Cornwall really looked like this (fabulous card) last week too - we were so lucky. Thanks so much for the welcome treats too - much enjoyed! Best wishes, Sam 14 March 09 10 - 14 march 17 Feb 09 The weather picked up and we had several cups of tea at the beach. Skating at the Eden Project busy but no bones broken. Spring just starting to show, what a relief. Went to Morrells Bistro twice ... early specials really good value and very large portions. Thank you so much, Kate, Ron and the girls x 12-15 Feb 09 Just a quick break - lovely cottage, great area, just wish we had longer. Gorgeous weather on Friday did 5 mile walk from Readymoney Cove (horribly hilly and ridiculously muddy) and recovered by walking round Fowey - lovely town . Great pasties from the butcher! Visited Padstow on Sat - colder day and enjoyed hot drinks at Green's Cafe overlooking the bay and loved the art gallery on the left as you walk into town. Late evening clambering on the rocks and skimming stones on Looe beach. Several giggling games of Balderdash at cottage! Just had breakfast and heading off to Polperro before journey home. Oh for a few more days! Lesley, Glenn, Ben and Liam. PS we loved breakfast at Daisy's cafe and Sarah's pasties are awesome! 18 Jan 09 Hi Cris and Paul, Thanks a million for letting us use the cottage - lovely and cosy! Met lots of lovely locals, fantastic atmosphere in the pub and amazing live music. Nearly ended up in the local nightclub but managed to resist !*!* Reluctantly leaving today, would love to have been able to stay longer, Jane, Cheryl and Carol xxx 24 Dec 08 - 1 Jan 09 Thanks Cris and Paul, lovely little cottage, everything here we needed. Down here for Christmas and New Year's Eve with family and friends. Can recommend walk from Polruan inland, the Hall walk, about 4 miles to Ferry at Bodinnick. Caught ferry over to Fowey and then ferry back to car at Polruan by harbour. The walk to Polperro is good, allow about 4 1/2 hours for there and back. The Jolly Sailor in West Looe is not too bad once you have fought your way through the smokers! Just found Daisy's cafe near here, retro cafe, good food and atmosphere, thanks again Cris and Paul, love Trudie and Chris. Nov 08 To Chris and Paul, Thank you for a lovely stay in Tuc-Tin. The cottage is fab, has a definite Cris feel about it with the paintings, seagulls, cushions etc. Obviously you can see what Paul's been up to too with the lovely kitchen and bathroom! We had a very relaxing long weekend, we did a bit of the coastal walk, went to Talland and Smugglers' cove. A lovely potter around Fowey. But we seem to have eaten a lot too! Cream tea in Polperro, lovely fishy lunch in Tiffin's - Fowey, home made pasties from the Little Pasty shop in Looe, and a really lovely meal in The Trawlers, our anniversary - aah! And the weather has been great too, especially for this time of year - didn't get wet once! Mr B has sampled the Cornish cider once or twice ... helped him sleep! So thank you again for a truly relaxing time in your dear little cottage, we'd love to come back .... many times! Lots of love Tracy, Richard and Libby xxx Oct - Nov 08 Our second visit to Tuc-Tin - just a short break this time but just as cosy and comfortable as last time. Once again we were lucky with the weather for this time of year. Trips to Gorran Haven and Mevagissey were great. Also the glass bottom boat trip to St George's Island. We love pottering around the streets of Looe, diving into the little shops and buying various little momentoes of our holiday. There's just so much to explore in and around Looe, I'm sure we'll be back again. Thanks Cris and Paul, once more. Heather, Andrew, Ben, Sam and Lucy. Oct 08 Thanks for a great short break in your very comfortable well equipped cottage. Walked to Polperro - fantastic scenery then sat and ate pasties on the quayside and built up the energy for the return journey! Kids enjoyed the crabbing and managed to catch about 40 in one afternoon. Had a really good week and will hopefully be back again next year. Wonderful to be in Cornwall and avoid the crowds - very relaxed. The B Family, West Yorks. Oct 08 Had a fabulous time - weather great. Morrells Bistro gorgeous food - went there twice! Go for the early bird menu and order small as it is enormous - especially the pavlova. Lovely trip to Lanhydrock. Walks East and West. Loved the cottage - thanks Ruth, Deb, Bill and Lily Oct 08 Had a great week in Cornwall - weather mainly v good and we have managed to pack lots in. Trip to Eden Project - as good as last time -A trip to Polperro on Mike Darlington's ex RNLI boat is well worth doing. Up to the N Coast and walk along the cliff tops at Boscastle and Port Gervace, then on to Falmouth for fish and chips at Rick Stein's yummy! Finished off our holiday with a drive to Lizard Point - very dramatic scenery made even better by a lovely sunset! Tuc-Tin is a lovely cottage- had all we needed plus in a great position. Great being so close to the beach. Jenny and Don Sept 08 Thanks Cris and Paul for sharing this lovely cottage with us, really great like home from home! We were lucky with the weather, sunshine every day. Did lots of fishing and have seen some beautiful bays. Pasties at end of road are great, we have to take some home. Papa Nino the best food in Looe a must. We hope to be coming back and will be calling you for sure! Many thanks Pete and Di. Sept 08 Have enjoyed a lovely week at Tuc-Tin. Weather changeable but mostly good and have been out and about a lot. Padstow, Fowey and Mevagissey are lovely and we thoroughly recommend Rick Stein's fish and chips in Padstow - best we've ever had! In Looe, the Sail Loft and Trawlers are good for a treat and the best pasties we found were from the Pasty Shop at the end of the road. The walk to Polperro is beautiful and the village is very pretty - worth the walk. Tuc-Tin has been a home from home, Thank you! Isla and Nic. Aug - Sept 08 We've had a wonderful stay at your lovely little cottage - Thank you! Spent some time on the beach and looking around all the friendly shops here in Looe. Trips out to St Ives, Fowey, Mevagissey were very enjoyable. We have enjoyed several good eateries here in Looe, - Daisy's cafe for a cooked breakfast is a must! The Little Pizza restaurant, Golden Bowl Chinese and Lascares Tapas bar are all worth a visit! Loved the central location and well appointed little cottage - we'll be back! Best regards Clare, Dave, Henry (10 months) and Grannie! August 08 Our second time here at 'tucked in' and we have had an excellent stay. Have enjoyed Lascares and Smugglers Cott - food excellent. Recommend Ocean and Earth Cafe (sadly now closed adds Cris) for the children's bucket and spade lunch, it went down very well with our 2 1/2 year old! (Cris says try Daisy's cafe instead, very child friendly). Leaving our crabbing stuff outside back door for future use, hope you have as much enjoyment as we did. Hope to stay again soon, Neil, Jo and Sam. August 08 (MERLIN NATIONALS) Sarah, David, Oliver and Joseph, What a fantastic cottage in a brilliant spot. We have managed the beach every day despite the weather. Great spot for dashing back for bits and pieces. The sailing has been windy, but we all had a great time. Hope we will be back in 4 years time for another Nationals and that Tuc-Tin will be free. Thank you for the welcome wine and biscuits, a lovely thought. August 08 Lovely welcoming cottage, having arrived in the pouring rain! We all felt very 'tucked in' at Tuc-Tin cottage and had a lovely week in Looe despite the mixed weather. Ventured to Lands End and Tintagel - the latter, on probably the windiest day of the year and it was actually closed! Tuc-Tin is Ideally located for both beach and town, young George really enjoyed his sea dips, sandcastle building and crabbing. We all really liked Looe and thank you for making this place so easy to stay in. Nadine, Mick, Sheila and not forgetting George. August 08 A very big thank you, what a lovely cottage, we really enjoyed our stay. Aug 08 Despite the mixed weather, we managed to have an enjoyable week. We were very comfortable in Tuc-Tin which couldn't have been more conveniently placed. We enjoyed a trip to Billy Smart's circus on a day when the weather was at its worst, and also a swimming session at Liskeard Leisure Center. The children loved the time spent on the beach, exploring the rock pools, and the crab fishing. The RNLI/coastguard/helicopter display was good too, also the boat trips. We can thoroughly recommend the food at the Smugglers Cott and the Old Sail Loft. Thank you for the welcome gift which was much appreciated. We look forward to our next visit. The 'W' family. August 08 - email The cottage is lovely and so well appointed in such a tiny space, also so well placed for beach and town as well. There were a few tears when J had to leave the sea gull on her bed, she had become very attached to it! Thank you also for the crab nets over 2 days O and J caught over 90 crabs, an occupation which is just as good in the rain as in the sun! Overall it was a very successful holiday and we would thoroughly recommend Tuc-Tin to anyone July - Aug 08 To Chris and Paul, Lovely little house, very quaint. We appreciated the high standard. The location was excellent for running back from the beach in the rain! Thanks for the crab nets - the children spent 2 evenings catching about 90 crabs between them! Hope others have as much enjoyment. Thank you also for the welcoming gift - a lovely touch from Cornwall. Not having visited Looe for about 30 years it was so refreshing to find a town which had hardly changed - fishing, boat trips, speed boats, just the same. Thanks for a lovely holiday in Tuc-Tin! Ken, Mary, Grace, Ollie and Josie. July 08 Eventually arrived at Tuc-Tin (after a delayed flight from Aberdeen) at around midnight. Thank you Cris for arranging the travel cot! Sunday - beautiful sunshine. Had a walk around Looe and visited the harbour at Polperro - very pretty little place. Ordered a take-away from The Golden Bowl, not too impressed, it was prepared a bit too quick! Monday - went to the fabulous Eden Project (def recommend) Tonight we ordered a pizza from the Little Pizza House which was very nice. Tues - Today we visited the North Cornwall coast unfortunately drove away from nice weather in Looe into rain. Padstow, very nice harbour town. Had great fish and chips at Rick Stein's. Drove further north to Boscastle - can't believe it was flooded so badly, very pretty place. Wed - today we spent the whole day at The Lost Gardens of Heligan - wow, what a place, well worth a whole day out! The jungle garden was amazing. Dropped in past Mevagissey on way home which has a really bustling harbour - nice little place to enjoy an ice-cream! Thurs - visited the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery at Lostwithiel - they have a huge selection of plants and also offer a mail order service if you can't fit in car etc. Tonight we enjoyed a takeaway from the Moonlight Tandoori, which was very nice and freshly cooked. Thanks for a great stay at Tuc-Tin. Chris, Kerri and Nicol. PS unfortunately we weren't able to try some of the fabulous eateries in Looe as our young child was in bed by 7. However, Tuc-Tin provided a very comfortable home from home for the week. We cooked some nice fish from Pengelleys. June - July 08 To Chris and Paul. Tuc-Tin is a lovely cottage, all the comforts of home. Didn't have very good weather but Looe is a lovely place, and we have been able to relax from the usual routing at home and work. Visited Plymouth, the ideal shopping trip, Polperro very pretty and quaint, Padstow and Fowey are also picturesque but we didn't see them at their best due to the weather. Had a marvelous meal at Papa Nino's definitely recommend this place. Very friendly staff and wonderful meals, especially spaghetti marinara. Had a meal at Golden Guinea, but wouldn't visit there again. Sarah's pasty shop; best pasties I ever tasted, but get there early before they all go. The Golden Bowl - Chinese takeaway - was very nice. Will recommend Tuc-Tin to anyone who wants to stay in Looe. Thanks for a lovely holiday. Dawn, Mike, Rob and Andy. June 08 Arrived at 1.30 this morning ... our anniversary. Woke up this morning, my birthday, what a fab place to stay to celebrate. Loved the narrow roads. Enjoyed a lovely meal at Papa Nino. Highly recommend spag and scallops or spag seafood. We found fish shop Pengelleys on harbour - excellent for veg - beautiful fresh fish so we cooked a fish risotto. Lovely weather. Walk to Polperro is a must. Fantastic cliff top scenery, takes about 3 hours comfortable, moderate difficult journey. Recommend Noughts and Crosses pub in Polperro, good pint, very clean and friendly staff. Great cafe at Talland Sands, in the middle of a field with great sea views! Purely Cornish farm shop at St-Martin-by-Looe worth a find. also at end of Lower Chapel St) Had a beautiful fresh ham salad. Lovely produce and very welcoming. Thanks Paul and Cris for a great stay. Trawlers fish restaurant worth a treat. Excellent meal - worth booking. Bob and Debbie. June 08 Great place to stay. Two great days out to Eden and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Favourite eating places - everywhere we tried! The Sail Loft - fab lobster thermidor. Morrells - great mussels and monkfish, Papa Nino - best spaghetti marinara ever! Pohuary in Polperro also fabulous food. Look forward to a return visit. Tash and Jerry. June 08 - email
Hi Cris, just a short note to say thank you for making Tuc-Tin
the perfect place to stay in Looe. We all had a wonderful relaxing holiday.
Everything was just brilliant, once again many thanks.
June 08 To Chris and Paul, many thanks. Tuc-Tin excellent. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. The weather has been perfect, we have had a totally relaxing week. We have eaten loads of pasties/fish and chips/scones, jam and clotted cream - lovely! Also great breakfast butties at Beach Front Cafe. Glass bottom boat trip is really interesting - well worth a go. We are now totally chilled out and ready to face the real world once more - although we don't really want to leave. Sue, Roger and Richard. May 08 Fantastic cottage, really well equipped. After having believed Tom-Tom and arrived down lanes which were so narrow we had to fold in wing mirrors, we set off to the beach with our coffee. Became a daily occurrence. We have managed to fit in loads. Train to Liskeard, trip to Eden Project (good) Gardens of Heligan (even better). Paid £1.50 extra for 1 1/4 hour tour (well worth it) full of anecdotal stories and gave you a real atmosphere and enthusiasm to do it all in one day! Then went on to Mevagissey and Charlestown. An absolute must but get there in time to see the shipwreck museum. There are sometimes three tall ships in the harbour and it's been used for lots of films. Enjoyed boat trip to Polperro. Have found twice, both in Mevagissey and Polruan, (foot ferry to Fowey), that it is worth ignoring all car park signs and head straight for the quay where there is parking. Time Team filming at Hannafore, looking for a monastery, scheduled to be shown on Channel 4 in Jan 09. Best eateries Papa Nino, Lascares, and the Salutation for good pub food. All had friendly atmosphere. Don't try Dave's Diner. Fantastic place to chill out, lovely stay. Thank you. Only ever seen Cornwall in the rain before. Thanks for speaking to the weatherman!! Deb and Graham. May 08 Just a few days to get Tuc-Tin in order for our lovely holidays. Dinner at Little Pizza House - long long wait but pizza good and inexpensive. Morrells Bistro - fantastic value roast - excellent service. Long sun burnt walk to Talland Bay - glorious and chocolate brownie at the cafe there. It's been fantastic sunshine our whole 4 days, 08 tan well underway! Have fun ... Cris & Paul May 08 Hello, we had a really wonderful time here at Tuc-Tin. After a long trip, we drove 200km, we arrived last Saturday. On Sunday we took some rest, stayed in Looe, went to the beach. Famke and Sara my two girls went into the water. Brrr, too cold for me, but they had a great time. Monday we went to Tintagel to see Arthur's Castle. Tuesday to the Eden Project! Wednesday the weather wasn't very nice, but we went to the beach to search for shells, Famke found a really nice big one. Today, Thursday, the weather was lovely so we walked to Polperro. Beautiful walk. My dad liked it very much but not to walk back so we took the bus. Sadly we have to leave tomorrow. We are going to "our" second cottage, in Mousehole. We hope that cottage is as lovely as this one. The beds were great and we all slept very well. We loved everything about Tuc-Tin and will tell our friends and family about it. Maybe more Dutch folk will like to come here then, many Greetings. Gertruud April 08 Great place, all had a wonderful time. We went crabbing several times. The catch was very good, 100 in one trip! The weather has been fine but very windy. The pasty shop (at the end of the road) sells excellent carrot cake. All in all a great time at Tuc-Tin. The Evans Family April 08 We all had a lovely time. We went to the beach which was great! We enjoyed lots of ice creams and pasties yum! My favourite part was going ice skating at the Eden Project. Trethorne Park and Farm was really fun. I bottle fed a lamb for the first time and held some rabbits. We went in the sea once but it was freezing!!! Nathan and Tad built lots of sandcastles and we played bowls on the beach. We loved the cottage and hope to come again. Joss, Meg, Nathan, Ruth, Ted xxxx Mar- April 08 Arrived on a wet and miserable Saturday - not a good start! However one we stepped into Tuc-Tin things started to look up! Cottage perfect - everything we needed including welcome card, biscuits and wine - very much appreciated, thank you. Looe is a lovely wee spot - just what we needed to relax and unwind. Really enjoyed short boat trip between East and West Looe and walks around Hannafore. Went to Eden Project - excellent well worth seeing. Really enjoyed Polperro - recommend for a visit. Enjoyed eating at Smugglers Cott, Archie's and a pub called Finglegoon in Downderry, had a wonderful Sunday lunch there. Enjoyed a trip to Plymouth to see a relative. Had a first rate meal at a restaurant called Lamplighter in Probus (between St Austell and Truro - about 50 mins journey) can thoroughly recommend the journey as the meal was unbelievable - mentioned in the Times and meal vouchers can be used for 3 course meal for £10! Weather has been great, particularly Thursday - we got sunburnt and husband and brother went for a couple of swims! We paddled! Men golfed at Looe golf club £35 green fees including hire of clubs and shoes. Beautiful course. Croissants and pasties from various bakeries - delicious. Food shops really handy. Went shopping to Liskeard - not recommended : more shops in Looe! Got used to seagulls after first night/morning! Cornish people very friendly - definitely will be back. Cottage ideal - especially the bathroom, will certainly recommend to friends. Roll on another trip to Looe, sorry to be leaving. Directions to cottage could be clearer ... (Cris now sends a map of town roads with confirmation ... see, all comments welcomed!) Mar 08 Lovely cottage, a home from home. Have done lots of walking, crabbing unsuccessful! Weather mainly good. Enjoyed meals at the Sail Boat and Little Pizza shop - both v good. Thank you. March 08 In Cornwall it's lovely. The sun has been out and the sea has been smooth but sadly we are leaving. But I've had so much fun in Cornwall and I've had a great time in Tuc-Tin from Ashley and Diane. (Nice pictures of sunshine included in book) It was great in Cornwall and a really nice cottage. Thank you very much! Harry (nice picture of boat and sunshine, thanks Harry) From Bristol Feb 08 Lovely Cottage. Sun Eve - walk around deserted Looe. Monday - coastal walk to Polperro. Tuesday - coastal walk to Seaton beach to Millendreath then coastal path. Wednesday - river walk along West Looe River to Muchlarnch. We've had dry sunny weather, a real bonus for February. We've managed three long walks without having to use the car. Ate out at Smugglers Cott but Papa Ninos and Tapas bar which seems to be recommended were closed. We decided this was a very good time of year to visit. The huge car park suggests it gets very busy in the summer and we are not good with crowds. Loved the alleyways around Tuc-Tin. Thanks, Liz, George, Tom and Natalie Feb 08 What a fantastic cottage! We have had a fabulous time staying at Tuc-Tin. Hope to visit again in the future. Many thanks. (email) Just a quick message to say we had a great break at Tuc-Tin and hope time permits us to stay again some time. Jan 08 Cornwall in January has been wonderful. We know the cottage would be lovely having stayed in your cottage in Golant. Trawlers was booked solid Saturday night, Tapas bar closed until Feb so we ate in the Old Sail Loft 30 seconds walk from the front door. Food was good and restaurant lovely. Also managed visit to Seaton. Wonderful walk on the beach to Downderry. A wonderful short break, many thanks. PS Cottage lovely and warm! Jan 08 What a wonderful way to start the New Year! We have had several very relaxing days here at Tuc-Tin. We can heartily recommend lunch at the Rod & Line pub at Tideford on the A38 on the way from or to the M5. They do excellent fresh crab claws with chilli sauce and scallops with garlic butter. We thought 'Ye Olde Salutation' the best pub in Looe (although did not eat there). Bought excellent mixed crab and also a crab, lobster and prawn terrine from Pengelleys on the Quay behind the tourist information office, which made very fine sandwiches indeed. Went to the Camel Valley vineyard - beautiful setting. Imagine that in finer weather the tour would have been excellent and that enjoying a tasting session on their sun terrace would be v enjoyable. Given the cold and wet January weather we made do with an extremely fine bottle of their 'Pinot Noir 2005' recommended highly by us and Oz Clark! We enjoyed ours with fine Cornish Pasties - a combination worthy of the wine aficionados film 'Sideways'! We enjoyed Padstow and had excellent fish and chips at Rick Stein's chippie. Enjoyed hearty walks on the SW coastal path at Padstow - luxuriating on empty sandy beaches and played skimming stones making wishes for 2008. Another great walk in the blustery January wind and freezing rain was from here to Polperro and we only turned back when the wind threatened to topple us. Definitely feel that we have blown out the cobwebs. Rather thankful for a ferry ride back to East Looe! One of my favourite moments was sinking into a hot bath after the walk to read a crime novel and listen to the now very heavy rain lash against the windows - bliss! We have also greatly enjoyed watching reports of the US election. We had a lovely meal at Papa Ninos last night and both had spaghetti with scallops (Cris's favourite - they obviously didn't know this at the time, I'm adding that bit as I put this on our website!!!!) which was very good indeed. We think that Tuc-Tin makes for the perfect winter bolt hole - very warm and cosy and exceedingly comfortable - and with no chintz in sight! Wishing all future guests as good a stay as we have enjoyed! Best wishes. Jan 08 Had a great couple of nights in your lovely cottage. New Year's Eve was 'rocking'. Don't forget your fancy dress if you come next New Year! November 07 We had a lovely time in Tuc-Tin. We recommend the leisure center at Liskeard and we liked the swimming pool for rainy days. We enjoyed crabbing and got 67 crabs and they had a race down the ramp. We had a lovely time at the beach. (Ages 8, 5 and 4). October 07 A lovely little cottage, beautifully renovated; we all 'tucked in' quite nicely! We've had fabulous weather for the time of year and have visited Polperro, Fowey and the Eden Project. The children loved the beach in Looe, great for cricket, football and sand castles. Lots of lovely little shops to browse in and 'The Ship' became a firm family favourite. October 07 Much thought, imagination and hard work went into the renovation and furnishing of Tuc-Tin, lovely curtains, congratulations. Enjoyed the holiday and go some painting in! October 07 The four of us have felt like the Famous Five as we've toured the area, we just needed a dog! We'd heartily recommend the tapas restaurant (very good service - though you'll need to book and ask for a table inside!) Mackerel fishing with Dave is also a must. We caught around 30 fish - certainly a productive couple of hours. The coastal path walk to Polperro is good and we've all caught the sun even in October! Overall a great long weekend, a time in which we've rested, played and walked heartily! Now for another glass of rose`! September 07 You have a really lovely cottage which we really enjoyed our stay in. Sunday - Walked from Looe to Polperro and back along the coastal path. Very nice pub called the Blue Peter (in Polperro). Monday -Wandered around Looe, nice walk along the beach and rock pools. Tuesday - Walked from Tintagel to Boscastle and back via St Nectan's Glen, the water fall was lovely. Wednesday - Back to Polperro by car. Very nice fudge from the Cornish Maids shop, the coffee shop next door is really good too! Thursday - Trip down to West Cornwall to the beach at Porthcurno and St Ives. Well worth the trip. Go to the Sea Food Cafe on Fore Street, you might want to book, we were lucky to get a table. Friday - We've been to Mevagissey which wasn't that brilliant - no sun today either. Then we went to Polruan which was lovely. Fish and chips from Kelly's in Looe was really good. Fresh fish from the Quay side is very good. The Grapevine has a lovely setting and the food was really nice too. No problems with the seagulls. Lovely weather all week. (Cambridge) Sept 07 Thanks so much, really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Visited the Eden Pro, spose that's a must, but for shopping you girls need to get hubby to take you to the center of Plymouth - 5 star. Tuc-Tin was so handy for everything, shops, food, beach. Ideal for us blue badge holders. August 07 We've had a lovely fortnight in a lovely cottage in a lovely resort. Tuc-Tin is really comfy and cosy, and well equipped. The boys enjoyed crabbing but didn't get near the previous record. The weather perked up and it felt more like the Mediterranean than England! The pasty shop (blue doors) is definitely the best for pasties and we can recommend the eateries in town. We look forward to a return trip. August 07 We had another wonderful stay at Tuc-Tin. The weather wasn't great but we still round plenty of things to do. As always the week went by too quickly. PS love the new picture in the lounge! August 07 Thank you! We really enjoyed our stay. We didn't go crab fishing but when we went rock pooling we caught 2 or 3! Lansallos cove was great for body boarding. The views from the coast path were really great as well. July 07 It was such a lovely surprise from my husbands son and his family for both of us - to stay in your lovely cottage. It felt like home, very welcoming, you really put your hearts into it. And it was an unforgettable week, walks around, taking a boat trip, spending some time on the beach and we took an opportunity to visit the Lands and it was breathtaking. Tomorrow we are going home but tonight we went out and had a glass of champagne under the full moon and a sky full of stars. We light a candle in our hearts and we said thank you and wish you all the best - lots of nice visitors. The memories will stay with us and we will miss being next to the sea and the sea gulls too! I really hope we will come back one day. Thank you very much (Rugby) PS 37 crabs not bad for a first time in only 45 minutes! July 07 We had a wonderful week at Tuc-Tin, truly a nice and well equipped cottage. We've been to St Ives, Fowey, Polperro, the Monkey Sanctuary, the Tesco at St Austell and even West Looe! Had a lot of English food and so we can recommend Deckers and the Kernow Cafe. Can't really recommend the Ship Inn and the Golden Bowl takeaway. We would all love to come back some day! (family from Germany). July 07 Dear Visitors, yes it's us again, just coming to check out Tuc-Tin and make sure everything is ok for the summer which is now fully booked - thank you. The forecast is for 3 days of heavy rain and our first day has been glorious sunshine - we are stunned. We spent the day on the lovely beach here and walked on the beach almost to Seaton at low tide, fabulous. June 07 We loved the cottage, it is cosy but we all felt at home and two boys over 6' but we still fitted in! The weather was mixed but we still had a great time and will recommend Looe and Tuc-Tin to our friends. Highlights of the week included a visit to the Eden Project and fab tapas at Lascares, Coastal walks and Polperro. Word of caution - Papa Ninos is lovely but cheque or cash only - no cards. Crabbing is great fun even in pouring rain!! Hope you all have as much fun as we did. May 07 To Chris & Paul, To start - Looe is so completely diff to Guiting! Day One pm, arrived. Had some late crab catching and booked to eat in the Bywater, around the corner - it was lovely. Day Two - Decided to walk to Monkey Sanctuary in 'no mans land' - This is where we shouldn't have listened to local directions! As it began to rain, thunder and hale ... we called for a taxi when we were soaked to the skin. A very friendly firm. Got back, changed, and went back in car, seeing monkeys was great. Last Day - Eden Project, great experience - even convinced Phil into green houses! Going home and you were right Chris, we should have done a week. Crab catching H = 26, P = 14, not as good as past pages! May 07 Cris & Paul, cute little place! Fab shower after sweating it out zonking down the M5, well equipped and cosy. it was great being so close to the sea. We parked in Looe @ the top of the hill so thighs firm and bums toned!! We can't vouch for any of the restaurants as we're ones for cooking, but the parents took us out near Noss Mayo to a fab place, The Seafood Restaurant. Yealmpton. Worth a visit if you enjoy a palette sensation or two (The brill was brill). Walk to Polperro great, tandems fun in Padstow on Camel Trail - och and the fudge - the FUDGE!! A spud gun to shoot the loud seagulls kept on the bedside table would be useful. We had great hols!! Shame it was only a week! Thanks and God bless. Friday 13th April To Chris and Paul, Having a wonderful break at your cosy cottage. Crabbing was great and the ice-cream is lovely! Weather is good and the beach is beautiful. we've been to Jamaica Inn, Lanhydrock and Polperro! it was great in Looe. Thanks again. Easter 07 Thank you for a most enjoyable week over Easter at Tuc-Tin. We found it furnished to a very high standard and it was most comfortable. We also enjoyed the tray of Easter delights that you had left out for us. The weather was glorious and we enjoyed discovering that bit of Cornwall. Our only regret is that we did not find Polperro until the penultimate evening, so another trip is definitely needed! Best wishes. April 07 Dear Cris & Paul, We had a great time staying in Tuc-Tin. The beach was really fun, the sea was very cold but we still went in. We made sandcastles and buried Billy in the sand! We recommend all the pasty shops, they do really nice cakes and pasties. The arcades were also fun but we didn't really win anything! We had a day out on Sunday, we went to the monkey sanctuary. I would recommend it for a fab day out. xxx March 07 A winter break is a must. No crowds and virtually car free roads. Weather has been wonderful apart from storm and tempest on first Sunday. We have explored coast line right up to Rame Head and walked across to the little chapel, what a view! Try visiting Port Wrinkle, Downderry and Seaton. Also there is a lovely short walk from Looe to Plaidy. If you visit Fowey, go for a coffee and 'do-nut' at Pinky Murphy's a really quirky place! You will also receive a warm welcome from Harry and Karen who run the kitchen in Polperro. Thank you for letting us use Tuc-Tin. A beautiful seaside cottage - all we could wish for. (Gloucestershire). Feb 07 This was a surprise for my birthday from my boyfriend. What a lovely surprise and lovely cottage. We loved our stay! the cottage is just as it should be! We had a great meal on a Saturday at the tapas bar - a great walk on Sunday - go West on the coast path not east - much prettier! Thank you! We will be back I hope ! Best wishes x |
